Workshops

The Analysis Factor offers Webinar workshops on a variety of statistical topics.

Karen Grace-Martin conducts each webinar live. You can attend either by phone or over the internet as you see what is happening on my computer screen. Webinars are highly interactive--you can see my power point and ask questions during the session, yet you never have to leave your house or office.

Save on travel expenses and fit it into your regular schedule. And because you’re not travelling, we don’t have to concentrate an overwhelming amount of information into one day. We can spread it out in digestible amounts.

And best of all, unlike live workshops, the presentations will be recorded. You will get the recording from every session, so if you miss one, or need to review the material in a few months, you’ll have it forever.

Upcoming Workshops

Assumptions of the General Linear Model and How to Check Them

The assumptions of statistical tests is one of those extremely important issues in statistics about which many data analysts are confused and misinformed.

This workshop clearly lays out the assumptions of linear regression and ANOVA in a logical way and shows you in detail how to check those assumptions.

Running Regressions and ANOVAs in SPSS GLM

This workshop is all about using SPSS to run regressions and ANOVAs. You will learn the features and defaults of SPSS's regression and GLM procedures as we go through GLM step-by-step to run an Analysis of Covariance and a Linear Regression.

Past Workshop Descriptions

Interpreting Regression Coefficients

Understanding what regression results mean for various types of predictors is absolutely vital for building accurate and powerful models.

This workshop covers the meaning of regression coeffiicients for continuous, standardized, centered, quadratic, and dummy-coded categorical predictors, plus interactions.

Missing Data: Effectively Dealing with Missing Data Without Biasing your Results

This workshop will get you up to speed on the modern approaches to missing data that give you unbiased results with no loss of power--multiple imputation and full information maximum likelihood.

You will also learn about the old, simple techniques and how they solve problems with missing data, the new problems they create, and the situations in which they work well enough.

Calculating Power and Sample Size This 2-hour workshop will get you up to speed on power, sample size, and how to calculate them. You will learn how to calculate simple sample estimates by hand and more complicated ones using specialized software.
